David (1980) is a senior technology and digital transformation professional helping people and organizations to benefit from the power of technology. Part business, part innovation, part technology – one hundred percent digital and secure. Over the past 20 years, his expertise has developed from delivering data analytics, robotics, cloud & platform solutions and cyber security into leading and executing large selection and implementation projects, IT strategy and governance programs and advising boards of directors on technology and innovation. Always focused on opportunities but with a keen eye for relevant risks involved.
He is described as a strategic builder with a hands-on approach and is able to translate market developments on technology and innovation into practical application within organizations and successfully operationalize and implement them. His approach is characterized being pragmatic, focused on growing people and teams, stimulating an innovative culture and helping drive organizations to become more resilient and client centric through digital transformation.
David is entrepreneurial and has broad experience; as a student he started his first internet company in 1998, which he sold successfully in 2001. After that he founded a consultancy company with a focus on data analytics, robotics and digital platforms. In order to gain more experience with larger organizations as well as listed companies, David switched to consultancy (Big5) in 2015 in order to help large and global organizations formulate their IT strategy, organize innovation and development through technology, growing IT and solution teams and drive projects on the rationalization of IT departments.
In addition to his work as a consultant, David has also been many years actively involved in several start- and scale-ups in cyber security, robotics and data engineering/analytics/science. These start- and scale-ups all have in common that they combine (emerging) technology with either process optimization, security/risk/compliance automation or predictive/prescriptive data science.
For David, technology and innovation are not ‘stand-alone’ nor a goal on itself but powerful enablers for more customer centricity and to enable organizations to be more efficient, effective and compliant. He believes that the right combination of people, domain expertise and technology is essential.
